2008 NALS Regional Service Medal Recipient
The Mid America Regional Lily Society (MARLS) awarded the North American Lily Society Regional Service Medal for 2008 to Maureen Janson.
President Fred Winterowd presented the award to Maureen on June 28 during the Awards Picnic and Mini Show held at the Fitzgibbons’ home.
Maureen is a long-time member of MARLS and has served in many capacities. She has been secretary, a board member, editor of the Lily Trumpet, bulb chair, classification show chair, and leader of a variety of programs.
Maureen served as the web mistress of the first MARLS’ website. She accepted the challenging responsibility for developing the site and kept it up to date with information and photos.
Maureen has also been active at the national level. She served as NALS seed chair for the past two seasons.
At the 2008 MARLS lily show, she wowed us with her stems of Martagons. She carefully nurtured bulbs from
Hal Schrei. Maureen’s nurturing spirit has blessed us all. Congratulations!
